There’s a cocktail out there now called the Cary Grant, made with lime juice, coffee liqueur and vodka. Apparently, it’s something Cary Grant drank, which makes us lose some respect for Cary. This Cary Grant comes from master bartender Oliver Stern and our favourite speakeasy, the Toronto Temperance Society. It’s as smooth and seductive as the man himself.

Recipe

Cary Grant

Ingredients

  • 1½ ounces bourbon

  • ½ ounce Lillet Blanc

  • ½ ounce Amaro Averna

  • ½ ounce Grand Marnier

  • Dash of orange bitters

  • 3 drops of Scrappy’s cardamom bitters

  • Orange peel

Directions

  1. Stir ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. 

  2. Strain into a rocks glass with a large cube. 

  3. Garnish with orange peel.
