Old-Fashioned
Mixed by: Nick
Is there a more iconic and potent cocktail than the old-fashioned? We think not. Mad Men’s Don Draper may have sparked its resurgence on bar menus around the world, but this staple has been fuelling morning-after regret since the early 1800s. There are many, many versions, but here at Naked we like our old-fashioneds like our men: simple and full of bourbon.
Recipe
Old-Fashioned
Ingredients
2 ounces top-shelf bourbon
Cube of brown sugar (1 teaspoon)
Angostura bitters
Orange bitters
Slice of Mandarin or Clementine orange (no pith or seeds)
Large ice cube (small cubes will dilute the drink, and who the hell wants that?)
Directions
Season the sugar cube with six drops of Angostura bitters and six drops of orange bitters.
Place cube in an old-fashioned (rocks) glass. Or get fancy with it.
Muddle with orange slice and bourbon.
Swirl to dissolve sugar cube.
Add one large ice cube and sip.
